YJ Teens Nationwide Shabbat
In April 2026, we held our first YJ Teens Nationwide Shabbat with 21 dinners held in 11 states (and Australia!) all using the same Shabbat Shiron written by our Mazkirut!
Different places, one meaningful YJ Shabbat.
Participant Reflections
“The YJ West Shabbat dinner was meaningful because it gave us a chance to slow down and really be with our Young Judaea community. Singing the blessings and sharing a meal together reminded me that Shabbat is not just about tradition, but about bringing people closer. It felt even more meaningful knowing that my Young Judaea friends across the nation were also celebrating Shabbat at the same time. It also felt especially special because we included YJ traditions like prayers and shira songs. Those moments made the dinner feel fun and welcoming while creating a strong sense of Jewish connection.”

Our Young Judaea Shabbat dinner was meaningful because it felt really genuine and welcoming. We all were able to take a break from our busy weeks and come together. We shared food, talked, and enjoyed being with each other! It’s amazing to see how YJ creates a space where we can have fun, and celebrate our jewish identity.
