What is Year Course?

Young Judaea Year Course is the largest gap year program in Israel. Participants live in Israel for nine months, earning up to 30 college credits. Together with academic studies, participants strengthen their independence, maturity, and positive value systems, building the skills to thrive and succeed - socially, academically, and as members of their communities.

The Most Common Questions

Who is Eligible for Year Course?

Jewish students from around the world who have just finished their senior year of high school and who are ready for a year of communal living, mutual responsibility and personal growth.

How Long is Year Course?

Year Course is nine months - four months in Tel Aviv, four months in Jerusalem, and Adventure Month. Nearly all Year Course participants are full year students, which we recommend to have the complete Israel experience in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

How Much Does Year Course Cost?

Tuition for the 'classic' Year Course is $26,450. Participants receive an $800 grant from Masa and are welcome to apply for financial aid and scholarship. More than 25% of our current participants received some form of scholarship directly from Young Judaea.

What has been the impact of Covid-19 on Year Course?

Year Course has continued to run a meaningful and fun experience since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Please see our dedicated Covid-19 FAQ for more information.

When Should I Apply to Year Course?

No time like the present - the application for Year Course 2021-22 is now open. We recommend securing your spot early in order to guarantee your participation.

I'm Too Old for Year Course! Do You Have Other Programs?

Yes, we do! Our IsraelPro internship program, formerly known as WUJS, brings current college and post-college Jewish young adults from around the world together for five months of interning, learning Hebrew, and exploring Israel. Based in Tel Aviv or Haifa, IsraelPro is open to Jewish young adults age 19 to 32.  Take me to IsraelPro.
