Peer Leadership in Action

YJ Teens Leaders – Our Mazkiryiot

YJ Teens is a youth movement led by the youth! A Mazkirut (“Maz”) is a teen leadership board that works together to plan and implement programs, recruit for events, summer camps and Israel trips, and guides the direction of the movement each year. Elections, called an Asepha, are convened at each of the conventions, and positions are held for one year, August through the following summer.

Our Maz members receive leadership development programming designed to enhance their experience, and prepare them to be strong leaders in the movement – and beyond! If you see yourself growing into a position of leadership, the best place to start is by getting involved in YJ Teens events near you!

YJ Teens is led by a National Mazkirut who represent teens from across the country and work on programming for the entire movement and National convenings. Each local area has a Regional Mazkirut who plan local and regional events in different areas across the country – you can find more about getting involved here.

Who makes up the Maz?
