In 1998, Hadassah commissioned the Young Judaea Alumni Study in order to assess the long-held assumption that the movement’s range of informal Jewish education programs have been extremely successful at building Jewish identity and commitment to Zionism.

Conducted by Professor Steven M. Cohen of the Melton Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the study concludes that, "the Young Judaea experience exerts a powerful impact upon adult Jewish identity years after the alumni have completed their active involvement in Young Judaea. The Young Judaea experience lowers intermarriage, elevates ritual observance, raises community activity, promotes involvement with Israel and increases all other types of Jewish involvement."
