What are the dates for Midsummer LTS?

The program will begin a few hours after first session Tel Yehudah Campers depart on Tuesday, July 19th.  There will be plenty of time to rest, relax and hang out before the fun begins. The seminar will conclude at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 24th.

Who is eligible to come to Midsummer LTS?

All Jewish teens, entering grades 9-12, who are active or interested in being leaders in Young Judaea (within their communities and/or Young Judaea programs). They DO NOT have to be current campers at Camp Tel Yehudah.

What happens at the Seminar?

Participants will learn and strengthen practical leadership skills and gain and create resources to continue leading at home. They will go deep about Israel and many of the issues facing the lives of Jews and Jewish teens today.

How much does LTS cost?

The fee is $325 plus travel. If the participant needs transportation to the seminar and is not flying there will be a $30 bus fee each way (see below) or can be picked up and dropped off at Tel Yehudah. The cost of the program is $150 for Tel Yehudah two session campers.

How do I register?

Registration is now done entirely online through the Tel Yehudah Campminder system. The Midsummer LTS is as simple as adding an additional session. Please click HERE for the registration. Please note that even if you are a camper you must choose this option on your account. If you are new to Tel Yehudah and need help setting up an account, please call camp at 917-595-1900 x253

Are scholarships available?

There are limited subsidies available. Please use this form to explain why you feel you need assistance attending the LTS. Dowload the form HERE.

For additional travel questions please contact yjevents@youngjudaea.org

I can only find flights that arrive after or depart before/after the times you listed. Can I still take them?

Unfortunately we cannot offer that much leeway on this, the LTS schedule is precise and our time is extremely limited. Flights must arrive at the prescribed times. We simply will not have drivers and vehicles to cater to those who travel outside of the parameters listed. Additionally, if a participant tries to book a flight that departs before 4PM on July 19th, they will run the risk of not making his/her flight.

What should I do if I am flying as an unaccompanied minor to LTS? Will there be someone to pick me up?

Please make sure to check with your airline provider what their specific rules and regulations are for flying as an unaccompanied minor. Each airline has a different procedure and some charge fees for this service. Once you check these rules with your airline, please contact us at yjevents@youngjudaea.org so we can provide you with the information needed for the airline of our staff member who will be escorting you from the gate to baggage claim. If there is a fee from the airline, that fee must be covered by the parents or guardians of the participants. To be considered an unaccompanied minor, your airline must have on record our staff member’s information.

What are the travel guidelines if I am taking driving to and from LTS?

Participants are NOT PERMITTED to drive themselves to LTS. This is contrary to Young Judaea policy and anyone driving to LTS must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian.

If you live locally, we are providing a bus from Newark Airport to and from LTS, which can help alleviate some of the travel time for individual parent/guardians. The drop off time for those being dropped off at Newark is (approximately) 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19th. The charge for taking the bus is $30 each way. This fee does not apply to those taking flights. For more information on the bus from Newark please contact yjevents@youngjudaea.org.

What are the travel guidelines if I would like my parents/guardians to drop me off and pick me up at Camp Tel Yehudah?

Participants may be dropped off and picked up at Tel Yehudah by their parents/guardians. If you are being driven to LTS, please plan to arrive between 3:00pm and 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 19th. If you are being picked up at LTS on Sunday, July 24th, please plan to depart at 2:00pm. To ensure the safety of our participants, while parents are welcomed to drive participants to/from LTS, participants are NOT allowed to drive to/from LTS themselves. The address for Camp Tel Yehudah is – 3149 State Route 97 Barryville, NY 12719

If I am staying over at camp what will I be doing?

You will be exhausted after a session at camp, there will be lunch and snacks, movies and games available. If your parents wish to come and visit, they can arrive to pick you up during the pick up times for the last day of camp, but must have you back in camp by 4:00pm at the latest.

What if I have a sibling at Sprout Lake and my parents are picking them up on the last day?

If there is enough of a demand, we will provide a bus to Sprout Lake on Sunday. There will be a fee for this and that will be discussed with the individual families.

Will there be medical staff at LTS?

YES! Young Judaea will have a Registered Nurse at camp to staff the LTS and deal with any medical situations that might arise during the weekend. Participants who take medication will need to complete the proper sections of the registration form and those medications will be taken from the participant upon arrival to Tel Yehudah. By law, no participant will be allowed to keep medications, either over the counter or prescribed, in bunks. Medications will be distributed by our nurse at the appropriate time.

What is the cancellation policy for LTS?

If you cancel your participation between registration and June 1st, you will be eligible for a 50% program refund. If you cancel your registration after June 1st, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Young Judaea reserves the right to cancel LTS, or change any of the itinerary due to low enrollment security or other reason as determined by Young Judaea’s sole and absolute discretion.

Program prices are subject to change in Young Judaea’s sole and absolute discretion. Young Judaea shall not be held responsible for fees or damages associated with such cancellation that participants may incur.

For any questions about travel, registration or other logistics, contact yjevents@youngjudaea.org.

Regardless of when you cancel, if cancellation occurs after you have purchased an airline ticket, you will be responsible for the full price of the airline ticket. In the event Young Judaea cancels LTS, Young Judaea shall not be responsible for any fees or damages associated with such cancellation that participant may incur (including flights). No refunds will be given for participants who are dismissed and/or otherwise removed from or leave LTS for any reason (voluntary or involuntary) once the program has commenced.

Note: All flight expenses are the responsibility of the participant. Prices of the program are subject to change in Young Judaea’s sole and absolute discretion.
